What is CAPM?
CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) is an entry-level project-management certification from the Project Management Institute. It validates foundational project-management knowledge and terminology for coordinators and people newer to the field than PMP candidates.
What it means
PMI's CAPM page links to the official exam content outline and positions CAPM as a foundational credential — covering project-management fundamentals, predictive and agile approaches, and business analysis basics. It assumes less experience than PMP, making it a more accessible first PMI credential for junior or aspiring project staff.
