The Pathway

Veteran → SOC Analyst (entry) → Cybersecurity Analyst / IT Security Operations Specialist (mid). Veterans with relevant MOS sometimes accelerate past the entry tier.

What to Study

CompTIA Security+ (the baseline; listed as a DoD 8140 IAT Level II baseline certification — confirm current status at the official DoD Cyber Exchange; relevant for cleared roles). Use VET TEC / GI Bill funding where eligible.

Reality Check
